On this Picostat.com statistics page, you will find information about the rearrests data set which pertains to Rearrests of Juvenile Felons . The rearrests data set is found in the HSAUR R package. Try to load the rearrests data set in R by issuing the following command at the console data("rearrests"). This may load the data into a variable called rearrests. If R says the rearrests data set is not found, you can try installing the package by issuing this command install.packages("HSAUR") and then attempt to reload the data with library("HSAUR") followed by data("rearrests"). Perhaps strangley, if R gives you no output after entering a command, it means the command succeeded. If it succeeded you can see the data by typing rearrests at the command-line which should display the entire dataset. If you need to download R, you can go to the R project website. You can download a CSV (comma separated values) version of the rearrests R data set. The size of this file is about 63 bytes. Rearrests of Juvenile FelonsDescriptionRearrests of juventile felons by type of court in which they were tried. Usagedata("rearrests") FormatA two-way classification, see DetailsThe data (taken from Agresti, 1996) arise from a sample of juveniles convicted of felony in Florida in 1987. Matched pairs were formed using criteria such as age and the number of previous offences. For each pair, one subject was handled in the juvenile court and the other was transferred to the adult court. Whether or not the juvenile was rearrested by the end of 1988 was then noted. Here the question of interest is whether the true proportions rearrested were identical for the adult and juvenile court assignments? SourceA. Agresti (1996).
