On this Picostat.com statistics page, you will find information about the weightgain data set which pertains to Gain in Weight of Rats . The weightgain data set is found in the HSAUR R package. Try to load the weightgain data set in R by issuing the following command at the console data("weightgain"). This may load the data into a variable called weightgain. If R says the weightgain data set is not found, you can try installing the package by issuing this command install.packages("HSAUR") and then attempt to reload the data with library("HSAUR") followed by data("weightgain"). Perhaps strangley, if R gives you no output after entering a command, it means the command succeeded. If it succeeded you can see the data by typing weightgain at the command-line which should display the entire dataset. If you need to download R, you can go to the R project website. You can download a CSV (comma separated values) version of the weightgain R data set. The size of this file is about 738 bytes. Gain in Weight of RatsDescriptionThe data arise from an experiment to study the gain in weight of rats fed on four different diets, distinguished by amount of protein (low and high) and by source of protein (beef and cereal). Usagedata("weightgain") FormatA data frame with 40 observations on the following 3 variables.
DetailsTen rats are randomized to each of the four treatments. The question of interest is how diet affects weight gain. SourceD. J. Hand, F. Daly, A. D. Lunn, K. J. McConway and E. Ostrowski (1994).
