On this Picostat.com statistics page, you will find information about the BeeStings data set which pertains to BeeStings. The BeeStings data set is found in the Stat2Data R package. Try to load the BeeStings data set in R by issuing the following command at the console data("BeeStings"). This may load the data into a variable called BeeStings. If R says the BeeStings data set is not found, you can try installing the package by issuing this command install.packages("Stat2Data") and then attempt to reload the data with library("Stat2Data") followed by data("BeeStings"). Perhaps strangley, if R gives you no output after entering a command, it means the command succeeded. If it succeeded you can see the data by typing BeeStings at the command-line which should display the entire dataset. If you need to download R, you can go to the R project website. You can download a CSV (comma separated values) version of the BeeStings R data set. The size of this file is about 322 bytes. BeeStingsDescriptionDoes number of beestings depend on previous stings? FormatA dataset with 18 observations on the following 3 variables.
DetailsIf you are stung by a bee, does that make you more likely to get stung again? Might bees leave behind a chemical message that tells other bees to attack you? To test this hypothesis, scientists dangled a 4x4 array of 16 muslin-wrapped cotton balls over a beehive. Eight of 16 balls had been previously stung; the other eight were fresh. The response was the total number of new stingers left behind by the bees. The process was repeated for a total of nine tials. SourceFree, J.B.
